The spindle and the surface of the two carriage guideways of the
flat bed lathe are run parallel to the ground plane. Flat bed CNC lathe machines are usually used for turning the
internal and outer surfaces of cylindrical workpieces, conical surfaces, discs, threading, drilling and reaming,
etc. The main technical characteristics are: swing over bed, distance between centers, height of centers, spindle
speed, etc.
